Collaborative Research Centre “Trajectories of Affective Disorders: Cognitive-Emotional Mechanisms of Symptom Change” (CRC 393)
This collaborative research centre, which started in 2024, is a joint project of the Universities of Marburg, Münster, Dresden, Bonn and Karlsruhe, and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Within the CRC 393, renowned translational research groups are working together to better understand different courses of affective disorders like depression and bipolar disorder. Of particular interest are the cognitive-emotional mechanisms that lead to the onset and remission of depressive and manic episodes. The vision of this interdisciplinary research group is to contribute to the development of mechanism-based, innovative treatment approaches that can be applied in early stages of disease. In Subproject B01, we work closely together with Dr. Elisabeth Leehr (University of Münster) and Prof. Andreas Jansen (University of Marburg) to investigate how flexible emotion regulation modulates the impact of stressful life events on affective symptoms.
