International Research Training Group “Risk and Pathomechanisms of Affective Disorders” (IRTG 2773)
As part of the transCampus Mental Health initiative, researchers from the Technical University of Dresden and King’s College London (KCL) work closely together within this International Research Training Group. The goal of this DFG-funded research collaborative is to provide a foundation for interdisciplinary neuropsychiatric and translational research on affective disorders, which represent one of the largest burdens on global healthcare systems in the 21st century. Risk factors and pathomechanisms need to be identified to improve prevention, early intervention and treatment approaches. Ten subprojects within the IRTG 2773 work closely together in order to identify risk factors and pathomechanisms, to ultimately improve prevention, early intervention and treatment approaches. In the P7 project, we collaborate with Prof. Stefan Bornstein (UKD), Prof. Carmine Pariante (KCL), and Prof. Nikolaos Perakakis (UKD) to investigate the interplay between mood, metabolism, lifestyle, and physical activity.
