Research Statement
To better understand the biological mechanisms of eating disorders like
anorexia nervosa, I am applying supervised and unsupervised machine learning
techniques to structural and functional MRI brain scans to identify potential
multivariate biomarkers, which goes beyond the traditional univariate analysis.
With this approach, I want to test the hypothesis of dimensional psychiatry
which postulates that various diseases are associated with continuous
alterations of the same set of underlying mechanisms, present in every
individuum.
